drifting reflections

well, quite an eventful weekend. saturdays drifting gig was absolutely superb. go to the gig reviews section to read all about it. the band have also organised a headline gig at the london union chapel on 24th august which is great news. its a great venue and has been the setting for many landmark gigs, by the likes of godspeed you black emperor!, belle and sebastian, mogwai etc. the gig is to coincide with the release of ágætis byrjun on the 14th august and other uk dates may be announced shortly. i spoke to band quite a bit about the site before the gig on saturday and they really like it. georg is sending me some exclusive photos that he took on a mountain in iceland last week, and jónsi said that as soon as they’ve done the translations, we’ll be the first to get them. as far as the radiohead tour rumours are concerned, there is a chance that the band will support on the uk dates. they haven’t had an official offer from radiohead yet but are aware of their interest. georg said that they probably can’t play on the european dates due to prior commitments.
