iceland review

an important note. badtaste is selling copies of the ‘iceland review’ magazine (the issue with the sigur rós interview and cd). firstly, on the website it advertises the cd as containing a studio version of nýja lagið. this is not the case. it is the live version from the icelandic opera house, as on the svefn-g-englar ep. also it may be worth mentioning that the interview in the magazine is not approved of by the band, and they have often voiced their dislike of how it is worded. the translations (of song titles and lyrics) used in the article are not official. it is probably best that anything said in this interview/article is taken with a pinch of salt, and not taken totally seriously. the multimedia cd that comes with the magazine contains the live video of nýja lagið from the opera house and a cheesy slideshow to svefn-g-englar, plus a dodgy discography (the band did not release a 1999 single called ‘sigur rós’, i think it’s referring to svefn-g-englar). the cd also contains 3 audio tracks, svefn-g-englar, viðrar vel til loftarása and nýja lagið (live), so it’s effectively the svefn-g-englar ep without syndir guðs.
