sigur rós won the inaugural american shortlist prize for artistic achievement in music last night in los angeles. they beat the likes of pj harvey, gorillaz, at the drive-in, the beta band, the white stripes and air to the prize. the band flew over to l.a. for the ceremony, where they performed a live set. they will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize, as well has having $10,000 donated in their name to the victims of the september 11th attacks . if anyone has photos of the event, or the setlist they played, let us know. we do know however that they played at least the pop song and that they gave a very brief speech when they won.
