odin in iceland

the óðin’s raven magic concert took place in reykjavík last friday and was absolutely spectacular. it was in most ways a much better performance than at the barbican in london; a more icelandic atmosphere was reached with the icelandic choir and jónsi reciting the poem passages with steindór andersen. the climatic ending was brilliantly structured and went on for ages and jónsi did a lot more singing throughout the piece. fortunately, this concert will be released in some format or another (probably cd and video, possibly dvd) so you will all get a chance to hear and see it eventually. we will be getting a soundboard recording of the concert in a couple of days so check back soon for mp3’s of the concert’s highlights, including the tremendous climax.
