ný batterí, the second single from ágætis byrjun, was released in may 2000 in the uk only and has been out of stock for several years now. it has just been re-issued and is available to order on amazon. the single features a 5-minute extended brass intro to ný batterí which didn’t make the cut for ágætis byrjun. other b-sides are bíum bíum bambaló (a cover of an icelandic lullaby) and dánarfregnir og jarðarfarir (a cover of the theme to the icelandic national radio service ‘death announcements and funerals’).
